What is our family expected to do?

Treat these students like your own children.  Same rules, same expectations.

They are a family member, not a guest.  If you want to take them places, then that is great and it will provide them with fun experiences and opportunities during their exchange year.  However, your primary role is acting as a parent, and providing food and shelter.  You need to be a good friend to the student, whilst maintaining authority.

You will have a very enjoyable time and there is always support available. Being a host for an inbound student can be, and should be, a very rewarding task.  It is our task as the District Committee to ensure that the hosting experience is wonderful. Your Rotary Club can get in and help with outings and weekends away. All sorts of stuff!
